Otis P. Motley has been a professional photographer for more than 20 years. He graduated from the New York Institute of Photography located in New York City. He used his skills and knowledge to photograph children, sports, news and other events. Assignments have taken him from the United States to Europe. Mr. Motley realized early in his photographic career that he enjoyed capturing images of people and places. He worked with one of the top professional photographers, Gary Czebernar (now deceased) at the Peden Barracks Military Community in Wertheim, Germany. While stationed in Germany he donated his time to military school youth sports photography and community events. His major assignments included President Clinton Visits US Troops 1995 in Baumholder, Germany. King of Pop Michael Jackson History World Tour 1997 in Hockenheim, Germany/Oktoberfest 2000 in Munich, Germany/Fourth of July Celebration 2000 (Featuring The Tempations) in Wuerzburg, Germany/Presidential Inauguration Ball 2001 in Washington, DC/Cherry Blossom Parade 2005 in Washington, DC/Hoops for the Homeless 2005 in Washington, DC/Black Press Celebrates 180th Anniversary March 2007 in Washington, DC/49th Fort Myer Military Retirement Appreciation Day in Arlington, VA October 2007/Planet Arlington World Music Festival September 2007/25th Anniversary of the Vietnam Memorial Wall September 2007 in Washington, DC/Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Day January 2008 in Washington, DC and Barrack Obama "Stand For Change" Rally January 2008 in Washington, DC. Mr. Motley's work has been published in the AFRH Communicator Newspaper, Pentagram Newspaper, Photo Flash Magazine, Today's Photographer International Magazine, The Wertheimer Newspaper, Marneland Newspaper, Stars & Stripes Newspaper, The Crusader Newspaper, The Point Newspaper, and on the BET website. Mr. Motley's work has been exhibited at Roxanne's Artiques & Gallery in Washington, DC, The Breast Care Center at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD., Waterford Homes Tour & Craft Exhibit in Waterford, VA., and The Washington Gallery of Photography in Bethesda, MD. His work has won several prizes. Mr. Motley received the Life Time Achievement Award from the International Freelance Photographers Organization. He is an active member of the Exposure Group, African American Photographers Association in Washington, DC., Professional Photographers of America, International Freelance Photographers Organization, and American International News Service. Mr. Motley is now a part-time Professional Freelance and Press Photographer in the Washington Metropolitan area, specializing in Art, Balls/Dances, Portraits, News, Sports, Special Events, Weddings, and Travel. He believes that everyone can be a model, therefore he takes his work personal and provides special attention to his clients.
