Currently I am creating maxillofacial prosthetics for patients at Columbia University and the Bronx Veterans Hospitals. Realism of form and color are key to making the silicone/acrylic prosthesis blend into the natural features of the face. It is this illusion that hides the defect rather than highlights it. I am also experimenting creating prosthetics for film and costume from realism to fantasy.
As an illustrator and artist I am interested in the sciences - specifically biological and environmental; but I am also interested in areas where science meets other studies such as philosophy, religion, alternative medicines, and literature.
In my work I try to incorporate and combine these studies through comparisons and metaphor.
