Chris Staples

Chris was involved in PJ1s transformation from sleepy
retail giant to creative hot shop. PJ was named agency of the year in 1995, 1997 and 1999. And Chris was ranked the number one creative director in Canada for four years in a row, from 1998 to 2001, according to Strategy magazine. He has been a judge for the Communications Arts Annual, the One Show, the Cannes Film Jury, the Andy Awards, and the Clio Awards.
At Rethink, Chris acts as co-creative director with Ian Grais. He is also involved in brand strategy, account management and new business development.

David Brotherton manages the production of Create Magazine's 20 quarterly publications. Originally from Missouri, David has worked as a freelance art director in St. Louis and Orlando for top clients including Panama Jack, Darden Restaurants, Hard Rock Cafe, NASCAR, Hard Rock Vault and the Orlando Magic. He has received Gold and Silver ADDY Awards in both local and regional competitions and was awarded the Photoshop World Guru Award and the Champion International Imagination Award.

Steve Hall

Prior to publishing the award-winning Adrants, Hall held management positions at Leo Burnett, Starcom/Mediavest, BlackSheep Marketing, and Bozell, where he managed marketing budgets for both consumer and business-to-business clients including Reebok, Sperry Topsider, Monster.com, Tyco, Marriott Hotels and Marshmallow Fluff. Most recently, Hall was media director at RDW Group working for clients such as Blue Cross Blue Shield and Timex.
Mr. Hall has written about and spoken for industry associations on topics such as the advertising's role in consumer-controlled media, integration of public relations and advertising, the future convergence of media, and the decline of traditional media. He is co-founder of MarketingVOX, an online marketing publication and co-founder and publisher of the AD:TECH industry trade show weblog. |

Marc's first venture into desktop publishing was trying to make his own report card in 9th grade. He got caught and his punishment was a life in advertising. Starting out helping the art departmet during school vacations at a small Long Island shop his mom managed, he skipped college and enjoyed 3 years as a designer before joining BBDO at the ripe old age of 20 as a junior art director. Since then, he's worked at Ammirati Puris Lintas and Y&R. Last year, he founded a social network for the ad industry, Adholes.com, and started an agency called Half Fiction, which specializes in creative uses of new media. |

Ron Kellum
Canada
Ron Kellum graduated with a BFA from Louisiana State University in 1974. He continued his education at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and worked at a Manhattan design firm until 1977, when he was hired by Arista Records to design covers and promotional materials. He moved to RCA Records in 1980, serving as an art director there for three years before deciding to
start his own design studio. Ron Kellum Inc.'s client base included record companies, publishers, cable networks and high tech industries. Several years later, he partnered with Beverly McClain to form their present company,
Kellum McClain Inc. which continues to specialize in corporate identity, design and promotion for the entertainment, publishing and travel industries.
Mr. Kellum is widely recognized for his identity and logo work, for which he has won numerous awards, most notably as one of the top ten in both the American Center for Design 100 show (1992) and Graphis Logo 5 (2001). The AIGA Communication Graphics Shows, CA and Print magazines' design annuals, and Philip Meggs' textbook Typographic Design: Form and Communication are
other publications where his work may be found. During the 1980's, Mr. Kellum also taught graphic design at the School of Visual Arts.

Carol King

Carol King is a NYC-based graphic designer specializing in print design, corporate identity, marketing collateral, and web/interactive design. Carol has designed work for clients such as Lehman Brothers, American Express, The United Nations, Seabourn Cruise Lines and The Art Directors Club. Her beginnings in art & design became apparent when her parents and kindergarten teacher discovered her "sophisticated scribbles", and nurtured her talent by sending her to art school at a young age. Carol studied fine arts at the prestigious LaGuardia HS of Music & Art, based on the hit movie "FAME". She graduated with a degree in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design, and her work will be featured in the book "Exploring Packaging Design", releasing Spring 2006.

Giorgio Davanzo

Giorgio Davanzo, official typographer to the Royal Family, graduated from the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in his native Venice, Italy. His designs are recognized nationally and internationally, and have won awards such as Communication Arts, HOW Magazine and Graphis. His work has been selected for numerous design shows and published in many journals and books on design including the Annual of the Type Directors Club, Graphis Annual, How, Graphic Design USA and Step. Mark McAlevey

In 1993, Mark McAlevey joined Technisonic, a media development facility that creates high-concept audio and visual media for television, radio and the Internet. Early on, he was instrumental in winning accounts like TBWA Chiat/Day and MasterCard International. In 1996, he was named Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. In additional to working closely with key accounts, he has also been executive producer of numerous TV spots, corporate videos and interactive projects.
Mark earned his bachelors degree in Communications from Missouri State University (formerly SMSU) in 1984. He has served on the Board of Governors of the Advertising Club of St. Louis since 1998, and will serve as president for the 2006-2008 term.

Elliott Smith

Elliott is Creative Director at Arnold Interactive, where he has worked on accounts for Volkswagen, Toronto Tourism, Fidelity, Canadian Blood Services and Hbc Rewards. Prior to joining Arnold, Elliott was Design Director at Trapeze Studios (part of the Maxxcom group) where he worked on interactive projects for clients such as Paramount Pictures (US), Noggin Networks, Telus and Hoffman-La Roche Canada.
Elliott was also a Senior Designer (and later, Creative Director) at Extendmedia (originally Digital Renaissance), developing projects for large clients such as Bell Canada, GM and PBS.
His work has been recognized in the Communications Arts Interactive Awards, Applied Arts Interactive Annual, Advertising and Design Club of Canada, the Webbies, and Invision New Media Awards.

Ken Pivak is a professional advertising photographer residing in Los Angeles. A graduate of the School of Visual Art, NYC – 1985 with a BFA in Photography.
Ken is known as a “problem-solver” shooter and for over 20 years, he has been creating in the arena of National advertising. Ken has had the opportunity to use the computer as a tool since 1995, when he first created a partnership of photographer and digital artist named 2wist Photo. Together they were published in over 30 international magazines and various television shows depicting their work, and their work relationship within the commercial markets. Ken has made the computer part of his workflow for at least the last 10 years, working side by side with an array of talented digital artists, as well as creating digitally enhanced images on his own. John Haxby

John Haxby is a freelance photographer and graphic designer based in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, England. During the 20 years since the formation of his company The Art Surgery he has worked mainly within the music industry designing over 650 album sleeves for many record companies and artistes including Atlantic Records, Linn (Hi-Fi) Records and Topic Records. Jonathan Williams
